Okay maybe not the moving part but the packing does. I’ve always hated packing, granted I’m very good at it; nonetheless I hate it with a passion. I’ve come to the realization that I was bred to move, nothing more nothing less, every year I’ve moved in, which is quite ironic has I vowed as a child that once I moved out I would never move again, and if I did it would only be after I’ve lived at wherever I was for at least 2 yrs. Well that theory seems to have been shot to all hell. What makes it worse is I also vowed not to move within 3 wks of my birthday, and hence every move I’ve made has either been on or within a week of my birthday, which really makes it crappy.

If you haven’t been able to tell yet, this blog is about moving, in which, as you can tell I know more than enough about, and anyone that knows me can relate. Okay I take that back anyone who grew up like I did can relate. The U.S. military is a great thing, except for all the damn moving. Growing up fro me consisted of two things get in trouble…a lot and moving. If it wasn’t from one state to another it was from one town/base to another, then from one side of the base to another, then from on base to off base, and finally from one side of town to another, and yes to answer that question you’re probably dying to ask. Yes many times this was done within the same year. I suppose this is one of the reason I have a hard time getting comfortable anywhere I do move to, why I only unpack what I need for the 1st few months, simply because I never know when I’m going to pack it all up again.

So I’m sitting in my room which is now tore up from the floor up with computer components and old paperwork tossed about and I’m wondering why I even bother to keep have the junk I had, and then realized most of the things I had kept were some sort of reminder that I had spent hours looking for to no avail, at some point in time in the last year. So I’ve decided to only keep vital paperwork, anything to do with stocks, my 401K, and the vast number of police reports and insurance documents, only because I feel that I shall soon be disputing many claims in the near future. Anyway that’s beside the point, I found some things I had been looking for and some things I wish I had never found or had simply thrown away to begin with. I used to be a major pack rat, and would keep the smallest things if it held any semblance of an event. As I found myself knew deep in things I simply had no use for or no desire to keep, I touched each item and recalled whatever experience it was connected to. By the 3 A.M I had only covered half of the pile, and beginning to draw a very firm conclusion. Some things are better left uncovered, some things should simply be tossed aside and away like the experiences they’re associated with, and some thing should have never been packed away to begin with.

Out of all the things I found, I think the humorous was my birth certificate and will, ironic really, one document for when I was born the other for when I die. Probably the best so far, that I have found so far is the original beginning to “Fallen”, which is very cool, because I had lost it and never really got back into the groove to begin writing it again, and now I don’t have to. Okay actually I will, but not has much as I would have had to without it.

My work day is sucking, because all the servers are intermittently down and it’s been busy, because as usual no one listens to the VRU when it says the servers are having issues. And to top all of that I didn’t get the level 2 position due to poor stats over the last 3 months. I kind of knew that was going to happen, so it’s not a great disappointment. I am a little pissed because one of the current level 2’s who got the position the 1st time stated he wouldn’t recommend me because he’s worked with me before and apparently I talk down to floor techs. The strange part is I was awarded, on several occasions for being one of the top 3 resource techs, at the job he supposedly worked with me at. In another bit of irony, thinking back upon it, when I 1st became a resource tech at that job, I was competing with him, let just say that was the last time I recall seeing him until now. Hmm thinking someone is still a little butt hurt about losing the position to me.

Anyway that’s for the day, for now at least.

Share this:

Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)

Click to share on Google+ (Opens in new window)

Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)

Click to share on Tumblr (Opens in new window)

Like this:

Like Loading...

So my weekend was dull as can be, but what would you expect, I’m moving in a week and I must say it sucks.
