Okay so it\u2019s been what now 2 wks almost since my last post. Not much happening really, nothing of great concern of massive tragedy of the sorts that is. No, just normal old life I suppose, with a few minor events, of minor significance. This appears to be a growing theme here doesn\u2019t it. Well I have until the 31st<\/sup> to get the majority of Part 2 of \u201cThe Darkest Hour<\/a><\/b>\u201d completed so I can put it up on my site, as well as leaving some free time to write another shorter novel for NaNoWriMo<\/a><\/b>, and no I still have no idea what the hell I\u2019m going to write about.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

I suppose it was kind of good I had no major life altering events take place this last weeks or so, I finally had time to get caught up on things as well as prep for this Saturdays\u2019 Halloween Block party. Which I have finally broken down and ordered wax online, form a few different places, I wait until Monday to order simply because, I didn\u2019t want to order anything I\u2019d be able to got to the store for this weekend, however Most of the records ordered are out of print, and hard as hell to find, as well as unobtainable via local stores. So based upon tom\u2019s prior suggestions I checked out Hot Grooves<\/a><\/b>, Sandbox<\/a><\/b>, and HipHopSite<\/a><\/b>, I have still yet to order from Remix Warehouse<\/a><\/b>, simply because the 1 record I want isn\u2019t shipping until the 31st<\/sup> so it\u2019s pretty much pointless to order it right now. It has the new J-Lo track \u201cJenny from the Block\u201d with the tight beats and since it\u2019s an Ultimix production, I know it\u2019s have a tight as break. It also has the Avril Lavigne \u201cComplicated\u201d remix, and Eminem\u2019s newest track \u201cLose Yourself\u201d. After this Saturdays night out I don\u2019t think Em\u2019s track will be that big of a hit for this crowd since it kind of bombed at the club the other night, I think most people stayed on the dance floor, simply because they liked the song, but it weren\u2019t able to really dance to it, then again, it could have been the fact that they simply couldn\u2019t dance.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Back to where I was, so Sunday Tom and I decided to go record shopping for the party, we ended up driving almost all over the valley, to which Tom bought only one record, talk about will power. I on the other hand dropped a bill all around, and I found the last remain Tower Records<\/a><\/b> in the valley, and they had a copy of the Scratch<\/a><\/b> on DVD, so of course I dropped another $30 on it. Now my only priority as far as Dj\u2019ing goes for the rest of the week is BPM\u2019ing my non-labeled records, and marking the samples and breaks on my Rectangles<\/a><\/b>, which I finally understood how it was done, after watching the DVD. And possibly finding a new bag for my records, the ones I have are great for a little battle or guest appearance, but definitely not the best for a full on gig, especially since the larger of the bags has no frames and after pulling several records will begin to fall over unless propped up against something. Another reason why I need a bigger and stronger bag, is because even though I am concentrating on my hip hop performance much more now than before, I still have to be prepared to throw down when it gets to my house set. So I think I\u2019m going to try and order this one<\/a><\/b> off of DjMart<\/a><\/b>, if I can get it by this weekend, and if I can afford it of course.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

I suppose I have to somewhat regress, to Saturday, since that was the night we actually went out. Mike, Steve and I, rolled out to Steve old watering hole, way the out in North Phoenix, at a place called Woody\u2019s. We had been there before and it had kind of sucked, it was like hanging with one big clique, but then again, you couldn\u2019t help it the fact everyone in there knew almost everyone else, they were the regulars. The one really good thing about, rolling out there is even though you have to drive 45 minutes, you make the $$$ back in the amount saved on drinks, and even more so when Steve orders them (i.e free).<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Steve got ripped fairly early, since he was drinking doubles, in comparison to the plethora of drinks Mike and I had requisitioned along with a side booth. By the time Mike and I were finished with the 1st<\/sup> round of 4-5 Rum and Cokes and 7&7\u2019s, a piece a buzz was definitely, making itself apparent. From the week I had already had, I was in no way going to impede on the relaxing bless of it all either. A little into the night Steve new woman Erica showed up with her friend Jen, who seemed a little too quiet, so I started making small talk with her and we eventually started having a full on, yelling conversation and after a bit of coaxing, she had protested for nearly 10 minutes now stating she couldn\u2019t dance, I eventually convinced her to give it a whirl. For a short bit I regretted that move, as she actually couldn\u2019t really dance, she moved, but was obviously apparent that she was a member of the rhythm less nation. Now most people think that the member of this elite group has no hope for possibly removing themselves from this rank, however I\u2019m here to tell you this is not necessarily true. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The trick is to slowly, aid in the consumption of alcohol, while at the same time, surrounding them with mind numbing bass pounding frequencies, while getting them to move as much as possible. Think of it as trying to get a frozen chicken loose, by moving it around under water to loosen up its joints. So after some time of loosening her up, she finally started to let go, and with the aid of hip guidance was slowly getting into the rhythm of things.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

So she turned out to be pretty cool, and somewhat of a actually talker, which was really good, because I talk enough as it is, and don\u2019t really like doing all the talking. I did however forget one crucial step. I neglected the final phase of project \u201cLoosey Goosey\u201d, which is to stop alcohol intake, before all coherent thoughts are non conceivable. So at the end of the night, she was trying to pass out in one of the plush booths, and only after quick hurl prevention steps of ice cold water intake, leading to a minor brain freeze, she managed to get up and walk out the door. Needless to say she couldn\u2019t remember what number she was trying to give me and subsequently gave me the incorrect one, as when I called Sunday to see if she was alright, I was greeted with a heavily accent Hispanic man. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Her friend Erica did however confirm that the brain freeze lasted longer than anticipated, long enough to keep her from hurling until she go inside her house. She told me this later that same Sunday right after she asked If I had called her, as at least one of the #\u2019s she rattled off was the correct one, however she was unsure if it was the house or the cell # she gave me. I suppose it really doesn\u2019t matter I was still a little ishy at the time and may have had a slight dyslexic lapse and took down the wrong number. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n

So now I\u2019m off to possibly rendezvous with the roomies, and Erica and Jen at some late after hours bar, close to where I work so I bid thee all good evening, unless I have some more ish to write about when I get home tonight.<\/p>\n
