Not much going on, Other than the apparent ant invasion of our apartment is still ensuing. We had called in reinforcements, but that was like telling your boss, your phone doesn’t work, and his response being he’ll call the HR dept. that made no sense…exactly my point. According Mike, pest control found a colony outside our building, thus giving direct access to pretty much all the ground apartments. Mike is going to call them again, but if that fails, I’m sure with enough, sulfuric acid, Drano, WD-40, Liquid tide, bleach, a dab of Pine Sol for the smell, and a small amount of gas should eradicate them. If it doesn’t then at least there will be little chances for a roach support to them, as that little mixture seemed to kill them on the spot, back in Sierra Vista. But then again, I also had all of those chemicals readily available to me back then as well. And no I didn’t find this out by reading some anarchist cookbook, I just happened to be grounded a lot, and had nothing but time, and dad tool shed available.

I signed up for NaNoWriMo, based off a following a link on Tandis’s Blog, granted The Darkest Hour has already been started, it will be a trilogy So I suppose it can be considered 3 different novels, or 1 short story and 2 novels. I say this simply because, the longer it takes to write, the more I’ll have to write, to eventually get caught up. Anyway the contest is to write a 50,000 word 175 page novel in one month. I did a quick check and part one of The Darkest Hour, is only 24 pages and 18,000 words, thus the short story, 2 novel scenario. Apparently a few people have read The Darkest Hour, but I have yet to get any response on it, so I suppose it sucks maybe, the only person to give any feedback on it, already knew the majority of the story, and this was simply filling in some of the blanks, and providing a great in depth detail to everything that went on. But nonetheless, there are still 3 more portions that I don’t think anyone really knows about, and if they do it’s very little.

I would be writing more on Part 2, but I’ve been getting caught up on last year’s episodes of Enterprise, oddly enough it actually is grasping my attention now, versus when I tried watching it when it aired originally. A friend of mine from work has all of the 1s t season on disk, so he let me borrow it to copy. In the last 2 days I’ve covered half the season with about 7 more episodes to go. Ironically, last week I made a statement about TV shows. Basically I said an hr TV show is in actuality only 40-45 minutes, but no one believed me as usual, so I left it at that. At the time I was trying to remember a way to show them how this was done. I had learned it in high school, working at our TV and Radio Productions studio/class. It didn’t dawn on me until last night to look at the length of each episode, and sure enough, with all the commercial cut out and even with some lengthy fades and opening and ending credits, each episode is approximately 44 minutes, remove the 1:30 min opening and closing and your down to 41 minutes a episode. Needless to say this is kind of hard to prove without actually doing it, I know simply because I’ve been searching the last 2 hrs for links to a standardized scale, and was unable to locate one, besides it’s pretty irrelevant, just something to know I suppose.

Now I’m bored and have lost motivation to write, so I shall, pop in a few CD’s I brought to work, and watch some movies on my system, hopefully, there won’t be to many nosey people walking in my next of the woods and I’ll be able to actually enjoy it without answering how, when, where, I got it from, and deterring them form having me explain it in detail. I’ve found today that for some reason, maybe because the weather has cooled off, that people are not getting it. And I mean seriously not getting it, someone asked me what I was doing, and I told them nothing, they apparently didn’t get that I was doing nothing other than what they saw, which was me sitting there, staring mindlessly at my screen. Yet they found it upon them selves, okay maybe they didn’t find it, but they proceed to try and go into what exactly where the details of doing nothing. I personally have no patience for the mindless, and proceeded to fulfill his request, hoping he would then see the light and simply go away. I explained in great detail and length that I was sitting in a 4×4 cubicle, looking aimlessly at my 17 inch monitor, produced by Dell, in some suburban town, as the millions of pulses of electricity, were being fired into a cathode tube, which then produced a color images, shown on the aforementioned 17 inch monitor. Still not taken by the explanation, and with a deeply intent look on his face I then explain the RGB color code to him and that as there was presently nothing more for me to do, I was simply admiring there interlacing against the polarized film, which coated the inside of the screen allowing the image to appear. At this point another co-worker stood up 3 rows down laughing at the string of loosely correlated information I had just spewed out, and asked who I was feeding the half assed line of “Geek Speak” to, a simple roll of the eyes he knew who I was referring to and simply laughed. It was enough to get the neighbor to sit back down, and allowed me to aimlessly wander the net once again and with that a bid the farewell for now, as I’m off to design a new business card for myself and the McAllister crew.

Share this:

Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)

Click to share on Google+ (Opens in new window)

Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)

Click to share on Tumblr (Opens in new window)

Like this:

Like Loading...

Hump day already, damn this week is kind of flying by.
