Unknown<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

I stand before you in inexplicable awe<\/p>\n

In bewilderment to the faces that I saw<\/p>\n

An audience of people, known to me from the dawn of our time<\/p>\n

I pose to them a question, a riddle, a poem, my rhyme,<\/p>\n

An answer unknown to me for many years<\/p>\n

An answer to confirm your denials, or prove my fear<\/p>\n

A question of purpose of which I hold<\/p>\n

The answer to which yearns thy heart and burns thy soul<\/p>\n

Who am I to you?<\/p>\n

Am I a nameless soul associated with all the faces<\/p>\n

Only remembering me at certain time and places<\/p>\n

Shadowed by all the others, am I faceless name<\/p>\n

With all those you considering, not one in the same<\/p>\n

Am I the crutch to lean on used for your own spite<\/p>\n

Only needed when your words and actions leave you alone at night<\/p>\n

Am I pawn for your amusement the inevitable court clown<\/p>\n

Only used to garnish a smile and replace your fallen crown<\/p>\n

Who am I to you?<\/p>\n

This question is all I ask<\/p>\n

A trivial question or a trivial task<\/p>\n

Ponder upon my existence upon this day<\/p>\n

Question whether or not, I should have stayed<\/p>\n

A lover, a fool, even as a friend<\/p>\n

None of it really mattered in the end<\/p>\n

Hearts turned warm and slowly began to heal<\/p>\n

Others turn cold, using the scars for seals<\/p>\n

Some did neither and went away with a sigh<\/p>\n

While the rest sit here wondering, just who am I<\/p>\n

Amid the emotions of fear of love, and the pain of it\u2019s lose<\/p>\n

All which were used unsparingly and all at my cost<\/p>\n

Who am I to you?<\/p>\n

It seems such a simple question to ask<\/p>\n

The answer to which you must reveal your mask<\/p>\n

Exposing yourself to a grim reality, a glimpse into my life<\/p>\n

Bare the truth of your soul, revel its glow against my dark night<\/p>\n

Still the answer is unknown, but it intrigues your mind<\/p>\n

Yet for only a mere moment, a split second in time<\/p>\n

Who am I to you, battling your sticks and your stones<\/p>\n

Who am I to you, the answer a mystery unsolved, the answer\u2026unknown!<\/p>\n
