Unfortunately we do have a pst to get over. But it is indeed the past. I don’t stand racism and I am not proud of what my ancestors did to those of different races or creeds. But African Americans and Native Americans have the same rights as anyone else does. Unfortunatley the corruption I spoke of does reach into racism. I admire your knowledge of history but the slaves don’t pick cotton anymore and don’t even exist. As for the native americans I believe if they want their land back its all theirs but as I said govenrment is not perfect and never will be. And I do apologize for saying this but despite the corrupt individuals who run parts of our country Africans Americans have the same rights as anyone else and it is not the fault of our govenrment that they aren’t elected for president and not picked for political places of power. It is the fault of our vastly ignorant population who does not vote for them. As for ur government I do not believe it is perfect but it does do most of the things people have been ragging on it about. Racism is no longer justified or legal and I am glad it is this way. This country is not attacked where it needs to be attacked and is insulted and attacked where it does nothing wrong. So in some ways I do agree with your statement. As for bitching I guess thats one word for it. I just don’t believe the things people say about this country are anymore correct than what it does. And as for civil rights… They never should have been necessary in the first place the way races have been treated is all around wrong and unjustified. But it was 30 years ago and racial descrimination isn’t something I need to be told about, despite my nationality I lived in a downtown area where I was just as hated, beaten, stolen from, and shot at because of my race. And believe me when I say I don’t hate entire races because of the crimes of others against me. But on a different note… I appreciate the input and will definetly adjust my opinions accordingly.
And just as an extra note. I know of our horrid past and am not proud of that. It is the past. Think of it as a person. No one starts out great they have to work to get there. Yes we have a bad past but it’s in the past and we have made efforts to fix that since that. And as I have said or past has gone by and cannot be repaired. But so far I believe we have made progress for a nation that is just pas 220 years in the making. The nation we are today is what is under attack and I don’t believe it deserves the punishment it is taking for old and dead mistakes. And I salute your knowledge of history. It will greatly benefit you one day if you make it know that you have this knowledge.
