So this Halloween kind of blah, especially with the passing of one of the greats, Jam Master Jay. But I turned it somewhat around, see initially any type of work orientated function that I can somehow finagle into wearing jeans I’ll partake in. Well obviously Halloween is the easiest, I just go as a Dj, Unfortunately not to me people that I work with get what a Dj is other than what they hear on the radio. So I had to make it a lill more apparent. So after finding out about Jam Master Jay last night, I made a few calls, and decided that the McAllister’s should represent a fallen Hip Hop Guru.

I suppose we could have done something elaborate but it was a last minute type deal, so this morning if all went well, the McAllister’s all represented with shell toes, the trade mark for Run DMC. Since I was going as a Dj for Halloween at work anyway, I took it another step further. Yeah I know my dad always said I was either one extreme or another, never in between. So as I walked in to work, sporting the black leather jacket, the Adidas shirt and shoes, and grey carpeted case. I got a couple of looks, and a few props form some of the more up to date people in the building. I got to my desk and started to setup. I changed my desktop and then just as enough people were gather I broke out with a quick single turntable scratch, juggle, of Peter Piper, (one of Run DMC classic hits still used in Dj competitions to this day). So that was my Halloween, Jam Master Jay Tribute.

I took some pics of the setup, but can’t upload em right now, simply because I don’t have a USB port on my system here at work. But I’ll edit this post later when I get home to include them. But so far I’ve had to give about 5 explanations on how I use a turntable and how the mixer, and just how does a Dj scratch using all of the above, It’s turned almost into a “Show and Tell”, instead of a prop for Halloween.
