Valentines Day At 7000ft

So this Valentines day was one of those hit or misses that came down to the wire. DZ and I had been talking about things we’d like to do in our lifetimes that we just never got around to do, me far more than her. Now I am all for the whole romanticizing those special moments in life but the guy who I was going through to do this just jacked the whole thing up. The big surprise which i put off as a night out at a dark blues bar with some wining and dining almost came about since our pilot never called me back to confirm until the very last minute. Unfortunately by that time I had DZ in such suspense that I broke down and told her what it was since it was the night before and no one had called me back. There was a moment of disappointment, but then I guess it was the thought of it that brought the smile back to her face, and then even bigger when a few hours later the pilot finally confirmed the flight.

Now I don’t have a real fear of heights it’s more or less a fear of falling from great heights, or a distance where I don’t think I’ll have enough time to pull some crazy idea outta ass in time to save my ass from schmacking the ground, other than that I’m cool. 5 am comes quick when your about to do something you’ve never done before and always wanted to do, and sleep is a far distant item until it’s really time to go.

Our flight was smooth sailing all the way, after assisting the pilot with filling the balloon we cruised through several neighborhoods waking up people to a huge brightly colored balloon floating at times merely a foot or two from their rooftops and windows.

  1. Knowing about it did not kill the fun for me. Another bucket list item bites the dust. Thanks for making it happen.
