Yeah so I was bored again and took some more lil test, woo hoo. Why do sit seem that even though i did pretty much nothing at work today (I’ll tell ya why in a minute), and on the drive home, make plans to do things onceI actually get home, that as soon as I step in the door all motivation is left outside.

Now lil back story. Monday was like any other, didn’t really want to go to work, but dragged myself out of bed and did anyway. Good thingI did, kind of. I get to work and its slow so I set up all the stuff I needed open, including 2 email accounts and 2 databases that hog more resources than crack head running the government cheese line. Anyway, it was pretty mundane, till I get a call from one of the managers asking me to come see her. Now I’m thinking this is it, fired, let go, and laid off what ever you want to call it. On the contrary, I had applied for a position and basically she called me in to tell me I could have it if I wanted it. So of course wanting to get off the phones, I took it with the added noticed that I had applied for an open level 2 position as well. Her response was unexpected “Okay, if you take it we’ll just replace ya!”

So for the last 2 days I’ve been training in this new dept, which come to find out today are considered the slackers of the tech support dept. Great, how’s this going to look, and I find out the biggest problem in the dept is overcoming the sheer boredom of the day.

Damn and I thought I took the position to learn something new it the dept, too bad I learned all of it in a day, and there really is nothing to the job. My old manager then tells me it was a bad idea, granted it was a little late to tell me now. He feels that by me going to that dept, I’d actually be going downhill technical wise as well as possibly performance wise; as I’d have nothing to do other than slack off. All I can say is, I really hope I get this Level @ position so I can take this week as a break from the phones and then jump back in as a 2nd level tech refreshed.

I also found out today that they will be revamping up the 11-8 shift, which is my primo work hours, not too early and not too late, only problem is it’s for being a 1st level tech, and I really don’t know if I want to go back to that, granted the OT is almost always guaranteed. Anyway I guess I’ll just have to wait and find out next week hopefully.
