Weekend Recovery

So I spent the majority of this weekend at the casa recovering, unfortunately not from drinking which I had whole heartedly planned on doing, but alas a simple click of a button in haste inadvertently trashed my Gallery. So come Saturday morning I spent the majority of the time debating whether to wipe out Gallery2 and move onto some new Photo Gallery or pound through a reinstall. Well I ended up doing both.

I first renamed the Gallery folder in the mist of deleting it just in case, something went horribly and then went looking for something new. I had 2 possibility in line 1st was NextGen and the other was YAPB, needless to say since your reading this you can guess the results, but I’ll give the condensed version.

Tried install NextGen, realized it was an extreme pain in the ass, even though it has some wicked features- getting them all to work even hosed my WordPress install and forced me to deactivate all my plug-ins to find out what was conflicting. Ditched everything, cleared off all the neglected and unused databases.backed up the remaining albums and cleared out Gallery2, didn’t even bother trying to use the YAPB, and have been configuring the shit out of everything since, yeah 3 days now.

Am I having fun not really, thought I did take a lil break to wash Juggy and clean the majority of the grime of the swing arm finally.

And finally I have to go back through all the old posts and update the links to pics and galleries, as well as I still have well over 1000 pics left to upload. I guess I can’t be that annoyed by it all as I’ve been putting off cleaning up the site for some time now.

So all the galleries show up as new/update 🙂
