Yeah so I posted that little blurb earlier simply because I didn’t feel like writing anything, and actually I still don’t really feel like writing anything, but it’s better than saying I sat here for 7 hrs and did nothing, at least I’ll have accomplished something today. Unfortunately it really wasn’t one that I absolutely needed, the main goal was to find a damn BPM listing somewhere on the net, but alas, the only one available are for weddings and country songs, why you’d want to beat mix a country song with another country song over the course of many hours, I have no idea. Don’t get me wrong I listen to my own fair share of country and even have a few on wax that I play during certain sets, but as I stated only a few and they are all dance songs i.e. “Cotton Eye Joe”. No these lists covered the entire BPM range from 30 beats per minute to what seemed to be an outrageous 265 beats per minute, which lead me to believe that the scale was based on some other counting measure, than the standard method.

Anyway the resolution is going okay, it’s been 2 days and I’ve limited myself to 5 smokes a day thus far, which seems to have been centered in on being smoked when at work. This is leading me to the strange notion that I smoke the most at work, even though I far less opportunities to, than at home. Then again if that is the case, then finding the trigger should be somewhat easy, and in actuality I likely already know what that trigger is, the lack of constructive activities to stimulate my brain, that I find some sort of interest in. The last 2 days I have literally found myself at my desk for 8 hrs doing nothing but surfing the net, with the occasional interruption of a phone call falling oddly throughout the day, but limiting itself to more than 8 calls throughout the day. Oddly enough as well, if I found myself getting pissed at the people for calling and interrupting my serene state of being “zoned out”. Yes I know it’s bad, being pissed at people for disturbing me, whilst I sit bored out of my mind, but the fact is they all called with stupid questions, like

“I’m signing up for your online classes; uh do I need a computer to do that? And if so do I have to be online? I work over here at (insert one of the dozen surviving dot com technology companies), and a few of us wanted to know what all we had to do after looking at your website requirements”

My real response:

“Yes, in order to participate in the online learning environment, one of the prerequisites is an IBM compatible PC with internet access.”

What I was thinking:

“No you dumbshit, we just have the decided to use the word “Online” as a buzz word to grab you attention for the same old bullshit regular college course that you could have just have well taken down the road at your local community college for $50 bucks a class, but since we’ve apparently hooked you with our word “Online” we’re going to charge you, you 1st born son’s soul, and the services of your wife and daughter for the next 5 years.

And as for the internet access, once again, let break down the question being asked with the steps taken to get to this point, we’ll go ahead and leave the whole “ONLINE” concept alone for this one, as we wouldn’t want to burn your brain out before we can tap your wallet out 1st. You are currently sitting at a computer, in which is a detailed list of requirement to attend “ONLINE” (oops guess we couldn’t, just give a signal if you feel the warm ooze spill out of your ears) classes, yet you are calling and asking me what is required, versus looking at the screen in which you obviously read to get the phone number to begin with, in search of the answer you seek. But to save you the though process required to make the obvious association here, I’ll leave you with this small bit of “yoda-ism”.

“To be online, is to be on the net.

To be on the net, is the internet.

The net which is the internet, is that of computers of many.

Computers lead, to the internet, the net leads to Online, Online leads to empty wallet to match empty head”

It’s almost 10:30 now and I believe the U of A – Oregon game should be being web cast on yahoo sports, so off I go.
