Not really much of a weekend post, I didn’t do much of anything other than sitting in my room, getting over my 2nd bout with whatever bug is circulating around our apt. 1st Mike got sick then Steve got sick then I got sick, this 2nd time around Mike got sick 1st then I got sick and now Steve is sick. I think I’m going to quarantine my room off and run the vaporizer tonight, being sick for New Year’s Eve is the last thing I need.

Speaking of New Year’s Eve, I finally got some new wax, after having to put it off form this weekend, although I didn’t get everything I needed, I did pick up a few essentials like the December issue of Mix Factor from Strictly Hits, which includes:

1) Christina Aguilera feat Redman – Dirty

2) Trina Feat Ludacris – B R Right

3) J-Lo feat The Lox – Jenny from the Block

4) Jurassic 5 – What’s Golden

5) TLC – Girl Talk

6) Craig David – What’s Your Flava

7) House Nation Mix 2002

a. The Deluxe – It Just Won’t Do

b. Kreo – Burn For You

c. K.O.T. – I Want You For Myself

d. Raven Maize – Fascinated

I also picked up a compilation break record, with some pretty tight breakdowns for songs I already have and don’t have doubles off, as well as backup for some of the ones I may forget to bring. I only picked up one single, simply because they didn’t have anything else I was looking for at the time, so I thought I’d see how Thicke’s new single “When I Get You Alone” fairs to the crowd, not that I think they’ll care, but we’ll see. I finally saw the video the other day on the net, and it’s, kind of different, but the beat is off chain and defiantly danceable.

So now I have to call Circles and find out if they still have any of my wish list available, which include the following

1) Missy Elliot – Work It

2) Missy Elliot – Gossip

3) Justin Timberlake - Cry Me a River

4) J-Lo – Jenny From the Block (granted I have a copy on the Mix Factor, I need the instrumental)

5) Nelly – Air Force 1’s (even though I absolutely hate this song, and will struggle with my wallet when it comes time to actually purchase it, since it will be a dispute of buying music I like and buying music I hate, but other people like)

Just got back form my break and I called Circles, our friend Derrick got his old job back, so I had him check to see if they had anything from my list. They have “Work it” and “Cry Me a River”, but not the others, so I’ll be making a quick run down to central Phoenix on my lunch to grab them.

In other news, almost every female I know outside of work is pregnant, 1st Heather was pregnant and is due in the next few weeks or month, then Sean finds out Fawna is 10 wks pregnant, maybe, and Sunday morning Terri, called to let me know she was pregnant. Ironically before I even answered the phone I knew she was going to tell me that, but since I was in serene state of a Nyquil Captain Morgan coma, my cognitive reasoning skills were not up to par in explaining how I knew. Oddly enough after I got off the phone with her, for whatever reason, I kept hearing the chorus to “Straight to Hell”, by Drivin N’ Cryin, until I finally slipped back into my deep slumber.

Cause I’m going straight to hell
Just like my momma said
I’m going straight to hell
I’m going straight to hell
Just like my momma said
I’m going straight to hell

Final preparations for the party are to be done tonight when I get home, I pretty much have the trance, progressive, and house wax already grouped and ready to go with the small addition of a few new purchases, but I’ll likely remove any none dance tracks out and keep the separated in smaller bags. Unfortunately some of the house tracks I’ll want also have some Hip Hop tracks on them as well, so those will be tough to keep track off. I’ll likely burn at least one or 2 CD’s for whatever I don’t have on wax so I can take a break here and there, but according to Glen one of the girls will be bringing her CD’s as well.

As for New Years resolution’s, I think I’ll stick with the ones from last year again, quit smoking and working out. The smoking one failed within a week or two but for any who wishes to know why simply read back a year and you’ll see. The working out one didn’t necessarily fail, but was postponed due to the broken leg mid way through the year, and even though it still hurts like hell on many occasions, I think I’ll simply have to fight through it and pick back up on a work out routine. My reasoning for these two is that whenever I feel like having a smoke, I’ll simply go blade for an hour or so until the urge subsides, so in essence killing 2 birds with one stone. In addition to those I need to seriously start saving for a new car, the Grandma Mobile is on her last leg and I fear she won’t last another summer in the Phoenix heat.

Another resolution is to get a new job. This one has a unique aspect to it. I really, and I mean REALLY, need a new job, but at the same time if it comes down to me accomplishing the other 2 goals and not this one, I wouldn’t be that upset, as the other 2 have been long term vices that I have yet to really get a handle on. I’m sure Mike will be pissed about my working out, mainly because it’s likely that I won’t join the same gym as him and if I do its stands a very good chance that I work out with him other than to play racquetball. As far as everything else is concerned, I’ve always liked working out by myself simply because my routine is usually drastically different than other peoples. Now that I think about I may join his gym, since it’s about a mile away, and makes for a good quick blade run to and from, thus no need for a cardio warm-up or cool down at the gym, as I’ll be getting the cardio in route. The only problem with that is I foresee its use wearing out after a month or possibly less, in which case I’ll need to find and longer, alternate route.

And the final resolution, simply because like so many other novels I’ve started and lost, I’m going to finish The Darkest Hour. So far I’ve only received one review, but it was encouraging so it’s give me some what of a reason to finish other than my own.

Either way, I’m actually going to make an effort to stick to these, unlike all the other years I’ve made half-assed resolutions.

Well It’s my lunch our now, so I’m off to get some new wax hopefully!
