Why do people buy shitty phones

So I work in a call center, big whoop, most of yall know that, especially if you’ve followed my site(s).  So on an average day I call about 130 different people all across the world. Out of those 130 about 40 of them answer the phone, and of those 40 about 30 of them have crappy phones. So My question is this why do they still use these crappy phones.

I used to have a crappy phone and everybody that called it told me that is crap when I answered it. It always had static on the line, or a annoying echo, once it even had the wrong person on the phone and they couldn’t hear me cuz they were talking to someone else, but i could hear them perfectly fine. Now this is way after cell phones came out so it wasn’t a network issues, I had been on 3 different ones. It wasn’t a location issues as it happened every where I went. I came down to being shitty phones, plain and simple. Now I’m not one to advocate cell phone companies and one si better than the other, cuz it really depends on where you’re at and how you use your phone.

No the case was simple as an old saying my dad used to tell my brother “You’re trying to live the champagne dream on a beer wallet!”, I used to hear that in my head whenever i was buying something new that i may have not exactly needed at the time but simply wanted. Unfortunately when i started making better money and really needed better quality items that lil saying would often times get me into more trouble than just buying the more expensive item. A great example of this is when I started building computers, often items I would get cheap discounted/sale motherboard and CPU bundles from Fry’s Electronic and instead of the more expensive bundles. Often times thinking well I can replace the board or CPU when it goes out in a year or so. Most times that year or so, turned into months, until i finally broke down and bought an high end AMD board and CPU, that board and chip have lasted almost 4 years now and still runs strong, though it is about time to upgrade and clean it out, but that’s another story.

Anyway back to the phones I went through some pretty crappy phones until I went to Vegas and my latest and greatest gadget failed to get signals in a well covered area, then when I got home and opened the phone to check it, the clam shell top fell off. So I moved to another clam shell that was better quality and on the same services a lo and behold no more static, and no more echo, and reception everywhere even when no one else was getting signals I always seemed to be able to pick em out of the air even if it was the faintest of the faint i could grab it and make a call. that phone and i went through hell and back and alas i recently replaced it due to a change in my needs.

Everyone was raving about the chocolate, and the razor and the i-phone, but i needed more, and ended up choosing the Blackberry Pearl, I really haven’t had any issues with it other than the fact it’s a not a clam shell which means I’m sometimes pocket dialing, nonetheless I got the hint “you buy shit , you get shit”. So why don’t other people get that, I mean really. The average person uses their phone over 10 times a day, that means you have 10 people telling you your phone sounds like shit, or they can’t hear you or your too loud. why do people who have shitty phones not get the hint and just buy a good phone to begin with and hears my thought about why.

People who can’t afford luxuries get the closest looking thing to that luxury and then try to pawn it off to the general public as the luxury.

Example (thank you Katt Williams)

There are some (many) who buy Chrysler 300’s, because at a quick glance in a darkened area, at a distance doing 20mph +, it can be mistaken for a Bentley. That is of course until a Bentley rolls up next to it.

A cheap knock off phone at a distance with a quick glance and cupped in conversation against ones ear , may look like a new Blackberry or I-Phone or top notch smartphone, until one is present in the same room, checking emails and watching TV. If you going to get a cheap phone get a cheap phone that looks cheap that way you know it’s basic function of making calls and being heard works well. If your going to get a high end phone….well it doesn’t matter you dropped the coin everything will work.
